I currently have AT 120, a 722 and a 322

I want to lower the package to the lowest that I can possibly pay but keep the DVR to record.

Can I go any lower? And maybe still keep HD programming? If I buy an OTA will I be able to see and record Tv in HD even if I no longer qualify for HD for life?

This is what my bill currently looks like.

In advance Thank You for the Help.:)

You can drop back to the Welcome package for $15/mo, and return the 322 and save another $14/mo. If you have the OTA module in your 722, you can still receive and record HD OTA channels.

The OP says he has a 722. Now, he may have a 722K or maybe not. If he has a 722 it has a one single built in OTA tuner. If he has a 722K, it requires a module to get two OTA tuners....

Indeed I phrased that lousily ;) but the OP wasn't much better. :D My thinking was that, if he needed to add the module, then he can't have a 722.

To the OP: If you go to the Welcome Pack, or Dish Family Pack, you will only receive your locals in HD (provided we carry them). If you want to have the national HD channels, you'll need to keep one of the AT packages, or go to a DA package (the 322 will have to go if you decide on DA package).

Welcome pack - $14.99
DVR - $6
Additional 322 - $14
Total - $34.99/month

Dish family pack - $24.99
DVR - $6
Additional 322 - $14
Total - $44.99/month

Those are without taxes, Uncle Sam needs his share too.

And just to belabor the point some more, a 722 has a built-in OTA tuner and can receive not only Dish satellite channels in HD, but all the HD that is broadcast over the air (not just the big 4) in your area. You could continue to view and record the OTA channels in HD, even if you drop back to the Welcome pack.

And furthermore, you could replace your 322 with quantity (2) VIP211 HD receivers and do the same thing (tune OTA channels) on those TVs as well, and get them in HD, for the same monthly cost ($7 + $7) as that SD 322.

Just to add to this, since i recently went with the Welcome Pack, any premiums you might wanna subscribe to WILL be in HD... like HBO and Platinum, just not the 17 channels. And on a side note, if you are a channel surfer (like my wife), don't go with the Welcome Pack... she's pretty PO'd at me over the whole thing. I don't care, I'm saving some money until fall... she can watch doogie howser reruns for a few months on hub.

One more interesting thing about the Welcome Pack deal... I bundle with my telephone company and never had the option to order from the adult channels. In fact they would not even show up on the guide because, I assume, Centurylink didn't want them to. Now they are on the guide and can be ordered. I don't know who'd want to with the internet and all, but the option is now available.
