Anyone ever hear of a Luneberg Lens??

I happend to find this after reading the post by IA6Newspath about satellite reception through glass. The last paragraph in the .pdf file that mkm4 posted intrigued me. It states that "It is possible to make a glass window into a microwave lens"

Anyway - searching for more information on this caused me to stumble (as usual) onto something completely different, but just as interesting: The Luneberg Lens.
It is reported that this lens can focus multiple satellites at optimal signal.

Never heard of it, but it sounds like something I'd be interested in. Especially for picking up the birds just out of range. I checked for a local distributor but didn't find any. As long as it's not too salty, I'd definately like to try it out.

Nice tech but not pratical in the US. Unlike our sats, Japansese sats are extremely hot. I would use the $ for good h-h mount and larger dish.
