some pictures inside DP LNBF

sort of other type of mad scientist ;)
On top you can see two multiplexor control ICs (ZLNB155) - one for each output;
on buttom - Motorola custom processor processing Dish DP (DiSEqC) commands and 2:2 mux matrix.
(First picture - bottom side)

other model DP LNBF teardown

A few pictures before desoldering PCBs.

And after.

Check out how differently done the "de-circularization" mode - used different shape of throat's insert, now it's staircase metal type and V/H probes located under 180°, not 90° as in previous model.

Found this thread a few days ago. Very help and thank for the good information. I modded a Direcway LNBF(11.7- 12.2Ghz) to get Echo 7 and got a reasonable result (pulling in 250+ channel). Some TPs even had singal quality of 100. But a few of TPs (e.g. TP12516 ) had very low quality( ~30%) even though signal strength is ok (~75%). Is there any way to fine tune the mod to improve the signal quality of those TPs?

Ok, I have a Superdish 119/110/105 that is mounted and aimed, but I am not using it. If I convert the 105 lnb to circular, put it where the 119 lnb is, connect it and my dish 1000 to my 622 using the switch that came with the superdish, what will happen? I will assume that nothing happens, so my next question is can I get 118.7 with the equipment I have if I just mod it and aim it properly.
Thanks for helping a newb,
CRH

Yes, after mod of the Ku FSS DP LNBF (105W) and aiming at ~119W and connecting the cable to Port#4 of your DPP44, you'll have programming from the 118.75W sat ( if your sub cover them ).

Got bad DPPlus Twin LNBF

and made a picture of internal guts.

Symptom is no signal coming out from both LNBFs, I'll check it to see if I can fixed it.

I'm looking for fix the DPP Twin LNBF; I connected it to lab PS, it show 0.34A load with 19VDC input.

Could someone test good one for the current ?

Next question would be tough one - I measured VR 7808 in a middle - looks good and provide +7.8V output; but at left side same type 7808 doesn't have any voltage on IN and OUT legs. Is it special one and does regulation by switching signal ?
Or I found fault part ? Actually, I think not - it could be input voltage disappeared by other reason.
Any help with schematics of the DPP LNBF would be appreciated.

Unlike...
Teletype is a brand of teletypewriter.
Xerox is a brand of coping machines.

According to my military mind, generically the tape is properly called either "duck tape" or "duct tape" and yes there is a brand of duck tape and/or duct tape called "Duck".

Maybe outside on an LNBF it should be called "duck tape",
while inside on your ventilation system it should be called "duct tape".

Yes there is more better stuff available now-a-days for HVAC!

EDIT:
Do you remember when...
After they ran that electrical line to your homestead and your family upgraded the "ice box" to an "electric ice box", now commonly called a refrigerator-freezer?
