Greetings everyone and welcome to SatelliteGuys live coverage of today's Dish Network retailer chat!

Should be interesting as we are coming off Team Summit and we have the VOOM additions!

The show opens with Amir and Jim, the audio is hard to hear.

Jim jumps in to say we have a special guest, and starts talking about Team Summit.

They will talk about the Pocket Dish today (Formally the Dish Pod) still showing Team Summit video...

Charlie makes a special appearence on todays chat

Charlie talks about Team Summit and VOOM.

Charlie says retailers will need to swap out 25 million set tp boxes to mpeg4 within the next 3 years.

Now they start talking about the VOOM programming.

Charlie says NO ONE will have more HD then Dish Network. Charlie says VOOM has work to do to beef up their programming lineup we will be up to 21 channels by january 1st.

Charlie says the first MPEG4 receivers will be out in late fall.

VOOM is available to ALL customers not just new customers

New promotion 3 months of programming for $19.99 for new customers they must sign up by June 1st, after that its at 60 plus HBO and Showtime free for 3 months for $19.99.

Dish says Dish will start with 10 markets with HD LIL after Echostar 10 is launched later this year.

Charlie says they may not launch a lot of cities for HD LIL since all their HD receivers have built in OTA tuners.

If the voom channels are available to both new and existing customers of E* why cant I subscribe to them when trying to sign up for new service with
SBC/Dish? Im told by the CSRs that it not possible to setup new accounts with the Voom Package included. Its not a discount or promotion issue its not even an option at this time.

Charlie says that those with a superdish should wait for MPEG4 before getting VOOM.

(Charlie is so confused about the promotions, its laughable) :D

Locals coming soon include...

Great Falls MT,
Casper, Wy
Biszmark ND (SP)
Fairbanks Alaska

Now showing a Dish On Demand VOD advertisement

because the DPP44 switch that's needed costs more than what the customer would pay for the upgrade ;)

i assume that would be the top 10 markets? i can't remember if tampa is in the top ten.

the Dish VOD service will cost $4.99 a month, movies will not be able to be saved and will only be viewable for 24 hours. Movies will download fastest when customers have their receivers powered off.

leslie Harper joins the shows.
The 625 takes about 90 second to turn on.
Now she is showing them how to program remote controls.

Now talking about Sirius Satellit Radio, buy a Dish Network Sirius Radio and a 6 month Sirius Radio subscription get a $50 rebate

They are now talking about changes to the Retailer Web site...

I should note they were really trying to get the message across theat they would rather not upgrade folks to get VOOM, since they will need to swap all equipment out again when MPEG4 comes out.
