Got kinda of a dumb question. I'm moderately versed in system building, am by no means a rocket scientist however, but I can read specs and assemble a PC from scratch fairly well.... But I don't have a very good idea what "timing" is when it comes to memory. If someone could briefly explain this to me I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm looking to build new system with a AMD socket AM2 dual-core chip and pair it with a Nvidia based motherboard that supports DDR2 800 memory standards. The memory I'm looking at is 240-pin 2GB dual channel, and the timing on it says 6-6-6-18. What does the timing thing mean?

I know it has to do with how fast data is read from the RAM in clock cycles but that's about it.

The specific chip I am looking at is the AMD 64 FX2 5600+ Windsor core, 2.8Ghz internal with dual 1mb L2 cache's. But I can't figure out what the external bus speed of the chip, which is what I'm looking for to match as close as I can to the memory clock freq.
