I watched Miami vice lastnight on my new tv and was surprised at how dark the film was as far as lighting over all. The opening credits were so dark that even with my glasses on and all the lights out in the house I couldnt make them out without squinting and leaning forward. Through the rest of the movie shadows were heavily pronounced and even in the middle of the day it seemed that brightness levels were about %30 lower than they should be.
To compare this I watched two other movies, 28 days later and tears of the black tiger ( this is perhaps the oddest western that I have ever seen ) and the lighting was fine in these two. Im watching dvd's through a ps2 as I have been for years, its linked to a sony home theater unit wich feeds to the tv for video only.
