I thought this might be interesting to the community. Thousands of streaming television channels from all over the world. Some links I've tried don't work but most do. Properly implemented, could make FTA go the way of HAM radio...

Mira los mas recientes Videos y TV en vivo

If you double click on the picture, it goes full screen.

But for now, does anyone get TV Canaria on hispasat? It just won't come in at all and I'm getting pretty much everything else. There also appears to be a boatload of arabic channels on 12132 that I've never picked up.

Hispasat 1C at 30.0°W - LyngSat

Where did HAM radio go??
It's not dead. I think it's just sleeping.

The advent of the cell phone cut into my auto-patch time.
The advent of the internet gave me international conversation on a regular basis.
...and packet-radio just sucked from the get-go. ;)

But I still proudly wear ham plates on my car, as I have for a number of decades. - :up

TV over IP isn't something I plan on embracing any time soon.
Give me dishes or give me death!
At least it's RF !

Yes , I'm getting Canarias Intl. , Press TV , and TV Marti on the same TP
12172 H 27500

Boatload of Arabic Channels ........................ Wait I see a pattern here , You're not getting your Horizontal Channels.

One thing I've wondered is the degree of overlap between people who do FTA versus ham radio versus OTA ATSC versus scanners versus other stuff that requires an antenna of some sort. It would make an interesting poll of the members here. I started with OTA ATSC and added FTA recently - many of the same skills apply except that with FTA it's noticeably more difficult to get a signal.

I get no quality or signal strength at those transponders and the settings are correct. I have blind and manual scanned. Same for the arabic channels. Other channels come in strong 90%+, but you are correct those are vertical.

I am getting the all important 11732H Veteran's Affairs channel on 123 with a different dish and lnb, so the coolsat 4000 isn't to blame. I have a fixed dish 30" winegard + geosat lnb on hispasat, is it possible the H receiving section is bad on it?

It could be the LNB, but also Horizontal is 18 volts while Vertical is 12 volts.
So, if there is a large voltage drop in your cable/switch/connectors, that might do it.
Re-tighten all connectors or replace the cable if possible, and see if it helps.

Why would anyone put a peice of ham on a radio?
I thought the radio was made from ham - like maybe some specific properties of the ham enticed the radio waves to behave in a particular fashion. I've heard of radios powered from fruits, so a radio made from ham (probably the kind with the bone still in the middle) is not so far fetched.

I,m getting it at 12100 27500 H 3/4.
The professor made a radio out of coconuts but couldn't fix a hole in the boat

I'd be more concerned about why, with him being on an island with Ginger AND Mary Ann, he was building radios.... :D

I think I could find something more interesting than electrons...;)

Ahh, Ginger or Mary Ann.
Let's see Gilligan was too dumb, skipper well he was married to the sea, Mr. Howell he was married.
Damn The professor was in paradise, makes ya wonder

I'm using RG-6 and my cable run is about 50'. How do I measure the voltage to see if I'm getting 18v? At the LNB? I'm going to have some time tomorrow, I'd like to get this fixed. I'm also going to turn the LNB some, but I'm actually getting a pretty strong signal on the V channels and it was eyeballed at about what it was suppose to be when I installed it and looked the skew up. Funny thing is when I initially set it up, I was getting Canarias and it just went away one day and I never bothered to try to figure out what happened (this was about 2 years ago).

Worse comes to worse, I can pull the fortec lnb from my 36" fortec dish and sub it in, but that's going to be alot of work for a day off...

On the other hand, FTA doesn't crash my browser and fill my screen with porn ads :)

Oh, and I got my ham license last month. Considering the massive amounts of Morse Code I hear on the bands, I don't think it's ready to be called dead yet. Or ever.
