Moving a BUD

Actuator arm setups are about 99.9% of the market, and always have been. They are perfectly well suited to moving a large dish, and if setup right, can be extremely accurate all the time. There are what's called "Ajak 180 HH" positioners, (like you said, kinda like the KU setups) but they haven't been made for nearly 20 years. They are available from time to time used if you watch carefully. Then you typically need to service them before installing.

The Ajak might get you a little more satellite range-view on both ends of the arc, if your location allows a good view of the satellite arc in the first place.

An HH motor mount provides the greatest coverage of the arc. HH mounts can be purchased new, but the cost is very high. As an example, check out DH satellite:

The least expensive option is the standard polar mount type with an actuator jack motor. The coverage range of the arc is less, but usually exceeds the requirements for most hobbyists.

I like the "chain drive" design, very interesting and adaptable too ;)

This is my dish, needs TLC but she'll do..
