whats the best method for moving the dvd/br collection to electronic format?
im thinking mpeg for or mkv files unless someone has another suggestion.

Well.... technically you are not allowed to copy anything that has copy protection :rollingeyes. That's why people like DVDFab had their servers shut down and are now based in China. There's a really good thread at AVS on ripping Blu-rays in the streaming section.

The legal way would be http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html

essentially you download a program that looks at the DVD in your computer drive and authorizes you to buy the online version. The nice thing is that for $5 you get the HD version... They used to have a deal where if you converted 10 or more they were half price. I am not sure if they have that anymore or not.

They had that deal as of a month ago. I took advantage.

All of my movies that have UV are on VUDU. Haven't done the disc to digital yet, but I'm going to try it on a few titles to have the series online.

TiVo Now on Fire TV

Is a Roku 4 with 4K coming this way?
