Moving USB external drive from 622 to 722

Greetings...
My 622 box crapped out, and Dish replaced it with a 722. The tech said that the USB drive could
simply be moved over and I'd have all my recordings.

Well, I did that - it wants me to reformat it. Any way to keep what I had recorded?

Best to look in the Dish Network Forum. I thought the drives were interchangable between the 622/722, also. I know they can't be changed out with a 211.
