IS DTV still planning this for some date certain? I had head Aug1 but well you would think that we would see an announcement by now. I know there is a thread but I see no clear word in it.

There is a really long thread that has been out there for about a month or so, but to save you the time of searching it and then having to read it all, nothing should be officially announced until some time after Spaceway 2 is launched and operating. Yep, thats basically because DirecTV will not make anything "official" until all their ducks are in a row & working. So until then, you won't have a real answer, just pur speculation.
