Some days it just sucks to grow older. This is one of those times. A piece of my childhood is lost with the passing of Ernie Banks. He was a great example of a sportsman and baseball player. Very sad.

Blame the new stadiums and their small capacities

some teams still do play the traditional DH...but its usually in markets where they can't sell out the stadium no matter what

RIP! I saw him hit the shortest 2 bagger I remember in 1955 at Connie Mack Stadium. He hit a high popup that landed right behind the mound and the entire Phillies infield said "you got it".
