This question is mainly for iceberg but others are welcome to jump in:

Every day or two my Pansat 3500s receiver quits working. I can change channels but the dish does not move if I am supposed to be changing birds. If I choose the bird that I was last on there is no signal. I can reset it by turning off the switch in the back for a few seconds, then back on, and it works normal again. It happens a lot and we have had no thunderstorms for a long time. Is this normal for that model Pansat?

Another problem: When I turn on the power with the switch on the front panel it comes on for a few seconds then shuts itself off.

the second part is normal. When you power the unit on from the back, the power light goes on, then off, then on again

As for the first part, I haven't run into that issue before. Only time I had to power switch it is when I remove/add switches/lnbs :)
