NASA TV in HD

Yea, I streamed Nasa.tv today on the Firestick.

I see absolutely no good reason to do this in the manner Dish has been doing. (Shrinking the feed.)

If you absolutely don't have the bandwidth dial it back to 480i, but for the love of god - quick shrinking the picture. Asinine at this point.

Stream it!

As for watching the SpaceX launch it’s also on Discovery and Science channels.

I agree. Broadcasters have multiple options to get HD (16x9) to SD...
A) Just send 16x9 SD. Yes, lower resolution, but still fills the screen.
B) Center cut (4x3 image with "side bars"). You lose content by "chopping off" the left & right sides).
C) Letter box. Shows the entire 16x9 image (no lost content) on a 4x3 screen.

When you combine B & C, you get "postage stamp" which is the absolute worst.

If you have a ROKU...you can stream 4k NASA for free
The NASA 4k UHD is in the channel store. I downloaded it but it will launch but reverts back to the app box. Removing & reinstalling doesn't work any suggestions.

I have that problem sometimes, find the 4k channel pretty useless, sometimes it works then crashes, then the content isn't there either they never showed the Dragon launch live.

Sent from my Non Apple Smartphone using the SatelliteGuys app.
