65 GAMES (33 ROAD, 32 HOME) TO AIR DURING SEASON

August 14, 2006

Oklahoma City – The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets released their 2006-07 Hornets television schedule today, which features 65 games to be aired on Cox Sports Television (local cable channel 37) in New Orleans and Cox Channel in Oklahoma City (local cable channel 7).

“We’re proud to have our fifth season of Hornets basketball on Cox Sports Television,” said Hornets Director of Broadcasting Lew Shuman. “Our fans can look forward to seeing all of the biggest home and road games throughout the season and enjoying the top-rate broadcasts that they’ve come to expect from Cox.”

The Hornets’ broadcast schedule, which will bring 32 home and 33 road games into the homes of the Gulf Coast Region and throughout Oklahoma, will begin with the season opener at Boston on Nov.1 and conclude with the season finale at the L.A. Clippers on Apr. 18.

"We are excited to announce our exclusive sixty-five game package of Hornets Basketball on CST," stated Cox Sports Television Head Rod Mickler. "The addition of key free agents combined with the growth of young players will make this a very exciting season for all Hornets fans."

Other highlights on the schedule include all three games against the L.A. Lakers (Dec. 6, Jan. 20 and Mar. 23), both games against Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade and the World Champion Miami Heat (Nov. 21 and Dec. 18), both games against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (Dec. 11 and Feb. 27), both road games against Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs (Jan. 19 and Mar. 28), five of the six home games played in New Orleans (Nov. 5, Dec. 16, Jan. 26, Feb. 23 and Mar. 23) and the Hornets’ entire late-season western road trip (with games at Houston on Apr. 14, Sacramento on Apr. 16 and the L.A. Clippers on Apr. 18).

Bob Licht enters his second year handling the television play-by-play duties, while Gil McGregor enters his 19th season of providing color analysis for the team. Jordy Hultberg will return for his fourth season as sideline reporter.

Prior to each game, fans can tune in to “Hornets Tonight,” a 30-minute pregame show hosted by Hultberg that covers up-to-the minute NBA news, information and features on the Hornets and previews of that night’s game. Also, Coach Byron Scott’s weekly show will air on Cox each Thursday evening during the regular season in both Louisiana and Oklahoma.
