Hi,

Basically I want to subscribe to Directv but I am from Canada.

A long time ago I had Directv legally but stopped subscribing around 2000. I still have my dish on my house and have my old receiver. I also have a friend who has a "virgin" P5 card that he can sell me. Can I buy this P5 card and call Directv to activate?

I do have a U.S. address as I have family down there.

Will my old receiver still work (it was a Toshiba) or do I need to upgrade to all new equipment? Can I activate online or do I need to call them?

Lastly, I want to give them my credit card and subscribe for a year or 2 so I wont be billed monthly.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should proceed?

Thanks

How did you make out

How didi you make out with Direct TV, I am trying todo the same, I already have the equipment

depends on whether you can get the satellite in line correctly and if you can use the us address great, but it is still illegal.
