Here is the deal, im an invester in a Frontier League Baseball team, and I was talking with one of the managers the other day and they are looking to put a satellite system on their team bus to help cut down on the long 9 hour road trips.

#1 It needs to be an In Motion System
#2 Needs to work with an HD 211 Receiver, and be able to receive 119/110/129

As far as im aware, there are 3 manufactures...

A) Raysat RaySat and RaySat Antenna Systems in-motion, low-profile, phased-array, Ku band mobile satellite antennas for SatCom on the move, mobile vsat (SOTM antenna) and mobile satellite TV in cars
B) King Dome King Controls
C) Winegard Winegard Company Television Antennas, HDTV, Satellite, Mobile, DTV, Portable

I tried contacting all 3 today, I prefer the Raysat system but there is no phone number on their website, and I filled out their information form and yet to hear back from them

I called King Dome, waited 30 minutes on hold and they hung up on me, emailed them and they sent me a responce that did me no good. Replied, heard nothing back.

I call a distributor about Winegard, and said I was susposed to be emailed information and heard nothing back yet.

Whats the best system to use, and what would you recommend if your familier with these types of systems.

Any dealers you know who sell these?

We sell VuQubes by KingControls. I've never sold an in-motion model but I know the others work great. I've also sold a Winegard system to a trucker before. It worked great for a year and then had a malfunction. The Winegard model was more expensive too. I think the VuQube model sells for around $1299. The number I call for orders with KingControls is 800-982-9920. Hope this helps.

Try contacting some local RV dealers, they can probably point you in the right direction or even install it for you.

Sounds like you are going to have real bad customer service after the sale from all three, if you can't even get putrchase info before the sale.

how about showing pre recorded DVDs? for the cost of the system and unavoidable signal outages in tunnels under trees and ramps dvds may be more watchable.......

Busses to the casinos in Biloxi show a dvd movie to those that do not sleep on the way back from the casinos. There are tons of sports related dvds also.

speaking from experience, avoid raysat. absolutely no customer support. It just doesn't exist. I hope I caught you in time. I just found your post because I came on here searching to see if anyone else is experiencing the (new) problems I'm having with mine, and did a search for raysat.

I really wanted to go with a Raysat system, I think they have the best design in the market due to the fact that there is no dome.

However they just leave a sour taste in my mouth. About 3 years ago I put down $700 for their speed ray system at a DISH Network show, with promise for delivery in about 90 days and nothing ever showed up and I have no idea who to talk about to get my $700 back.

They got absolutly no support on their website, and they take forever to ansewer calls and emails.

I ended up going with the Weinguard Road Trip system. Super easy installation, mounted the Dish and plugged it into power and connected the coax to the receiver and I was good to go.

Got a custom mount to flip down the TV (See picture)

I got about $1500 into the Dish, $200 into the mount, and then $800 into the Televsion plus about 6-8 hours worth of labor to connect it all up.

I ended up putting in Directv so the baseball team that this was installed for can get all the MLB Channels

Looks awesome!

Just curious. What kind of bus is that? From the picture I am guessing an MCI (Motorcoach Industries) model MC-9. The newest of those were made in 1988 but most of them were made in 1980 - 1984.

Thats kind of old to start messing with a new satellite system. But then those buses are known for going way over a million miles in their useful life.

little update, raysat now seems to be a defunct company. Their phone numbers are disconnected, and I found an announcement from May 17 that says that they are being purchased by another company, Gilat (Gilat - News & Events - News).
I've reached out to what numbers I can find for Gilat and their subsidy Spacenet, but so far have only received one call back from someone who had never heard anything about Raysat, but did say she would call me back if she found out any additional information.

My IDU (the box that goes inside the RV) has failed and now I'm out $3k+ for something that worked only partially over the last two years.

Yeah, I thought about that after I made the post. BTW - I just spoke with someone who confirmed that there is no support for raysat equipment and they are officially gone.
