Hi, I am new to Directv. My husband is going nuts because we cannot get Fox on our directv. We do get our other locals, though. Is there any way to get Fox (from anywhere) before Sunday? I called the local fox office and they said they were denying all waivers since they want directv to only go through the Lake Charles Fox and not New York or Los Angeles. I need Fox!! Like I asked, is there any possible way to pick up Fox, and without buying an additional antenna?

Thanks... any advice is apprecated!:)

Since your husband wants it, I'm assuming it's related to the Superbowl this Sunday. If you have either an H20/21 or an HR20/21 receiver, try the following:

Go into Satellite Guided Setup on the menu and where it asks you if you want a secondary local market select either the Lake Charles market or the Houston market. If it asks for a zip code use 77002 for Houston (don't know the zip code for Lake Charles).

This should allow you to get the Fox affiliate in one or the other of those two cities.

Good luck!

HEre is what I just did with my new Directv hd account that was added yesterday. I waited to last night and sent an email through their customer service section of the Directv website after I signed in to my account. I told them that I had "moved" back to my old address( which was a real theater address in Houston with a new apartment number added to it). I also told them that I had installed my dish and all was well. Could they please update my service address?

This afternoon I got an email back from the Directv care specialist that informed me that they had taken care of my new service address . I turned on my directv hd dvr and guess what? I have Houston locals in HD for ALL networks.

ABC,CBS,NBC,FOX ,CW,Mynetworktv. THat is 6 hd networks and all with a simple email .

Do it today, it's called "moving".

I am confused on that secondary market thing, how do I do that and does it cost extra money to get the seconday market channels, I live near Nashville, but I want to get the Bowling Green,KY affiliates( which is only an hour away), so how do I go about doing this?

There is no secondary market thing. What people do is tell Directv that they have moved and provide them with a new address. This will allow them to get the other networks but they lose their current networks at the same time.

Then, what is he talking about, and I've seen a "secondary market" thing in the setup menu.

Did you read my post above? It is called MOVING. Do a google search for say movie theaters in Houston area. Once you get a real address you can then add an apartment number to it like #203 which makes it distinct. Then send an email to DIRECTV telling them of your new service address . They will change your locals to Houston , You then get FOX in hd just in time for the super bowl. The only way you can do it any faster is to call them and do it on the phone.

It is late Saturday night and I just followed your advice. I used a Salt Lake address (I live in Montana). Hopefully they can get this done before the game. I have been going crazy trying to get a HD feed as there are no locals here on Directv and my local Fox only comes in analog over the air. I am also worried that the directv police with shut down my service for doing this. Thanks for the help.

I have proof that there is a secondary market thing, and I only live 47.8 miles from Bowling Green,KY and 26 miles from Nashville,TN so why can't I get the Bowling Green affiliates as a "secondary local" and if there is no "secondary local" thing then why do these pictures say otherwise...

I live within a zip code which does not receive locals. But 10 miles to my east is another county which does receive locals:mad:. If I was to "move" my address to that county, what happens if I have a problem with my setup and they (D*) want to send someone out to fix it?
