Remove the motor and bag a few satellites first! I know its not want you want to hear but honestly its the best way to do it! Give us your zip and we can tell you your true south.

Your true south is AMC 3 @ 87W

12110 H 14025 is a nice strong TP on that bird... it has the PBS channels (albiet with AC3 audio, but you can still pick it up)

OK, im getting pissed... i have taken this thing off the motor.. set the settings of the dish to verious sats.. Pole mount is nice and level.. and still no birds.... Can something be wrong with the dish?

The dish should be fine, show us a picture if you can?

If you think you are in the ballpark try a blind scan.........

Isn't yourskew supposed to be at 6 oclock

Isn't you're skewe supposed to be at zero with a motor

oops that;s right with out motor skew must be adjusted

Oopps with out motor skew is supposed to adjusted sorry

Do you have a signal meter That is how I got my first lock on satellite It;s kind of hard to hit something with out some reference

if you're getting high levels but no quality you're most likely pointing at a different satellite from what you think you are. ie not g10.

Try a blind/power scan and see what it comes up with.. if there are any DVB transponders on there, they will show up.

Also, the G10 bird is pretty hard to get for a first try (ask me how I know....)

Try shooting for IA5 or even your true south of AMC3 first

just to make it feel like i accompished something tonight.. i hooked up my FTA reciver to my DPP 44 sw.. and did a scan.. SO now is offically not the reciver.. I like the New look of chn 100 (dish mozac thing) wonder when thats coming around to my 942? if ever.. :D.. oh yea also if you switch the audio sound track you can pick witch chan you want to hear lol The thrill of my day... Tom I think i will move the pole mount.. Havent decided exactly what to do yet..

My eyeball inclinometer says your elevation is off.

It looks like it's set REALLY low. Try ignoring the scale and going +10 / -10 in 1-tick incriments while panning 10° to either side of your azmuth at each elevation setting.

Bob, if you're using an SG2100 make sure you're using the correct scale on the bracket, there are 2 scales on either side, one for lat and one for elevation.
