I'm a current Voom subscriber and as you all know I need to find an alternative service since the will probably go black soon.

Here is what I want to setup:
1 HD-Tivo in the living room
3 HD receivers in the bedrooms

Is it possible to run all with with one dish?

yes there is but hopefully you want need to change any time soon but you can run it off D* with a 5x8 mulit-switch i know for sure. BUt like i said don't jump of the gun to soon just have a back up plan incase

The PhaseIII dish that comes with an HD install will drive 4 tuners (multi-tuners are in the HD DVR as you know). I wasn't sure how many total you were talking about, so I thought that needed to be said.

You can decide how many lines you need now, and how many you might upgrade to later and if the dish's built-in multi-switch isn't enough, then you can LOOK HERE to plan your multi-switch needs; just put a TERMINATION CAP on any I/O that you don't use.

That's definitely possible. You'd need an upgraded multiswitch as you are talking 5 lines.
Plus, you'll probably want to distribute an OTA Antenna signal.

I'm not sure how that works.

Might be wisest to contact experts, like your local AV specialists, or value electronics.

Any install from DirecTV will include the multi switch if it is needed. Don't go out and buy one. Just be sure it is noted in your install notes when getting it setup.

True, but if the installer needs to upgrade you to, say, a 5x8 multiswitch, I doubt that would be included.

My understanding is only the integrated 4x4 multiswitch is "standard installation".

Not true. When I recently got a Tivo from D* they included a 4X8 multi into my install, already had 3 receivers hooked up in my home adding 2 additional lines for the Tivo is 5 lines needed. You just have to be sure it is noted in the work order. I have never gone anywhere other than D* for additional receivers and I have paid $0 out of pocket for my numerous installs over the years.
