Hello,

I just had an install of a Dish 1000 today and because of the location of the dish the installer added an extension to the mast. The length is about 3 feet above where it should be normal. This was done so that the 129 sat. signal would be picked up.

My concern is due to this extra height. Wind damage???

Does anyone think this is a bad idea?

Any info would be grateful.

Well you now have a 30" dish with a 5' lever and the fulcrum point is the mount on the roof. Hope you don't have a strong wind or you have real strong cables.
