I just had my HD directv dish hooked up. I have sony wega 4:3 HD tv.
I hooked up the directv reciever directly to the tv through component video. I looped my tv output through my mitsubishi vcr back to the tv so that my wife could tape her soap opera

My tv does not have an aspect button. But when I watch tv through the vcr, I can watch the HD channels in full screen rather than the widescreen. Which is nice since my tv is not widescreen.
However, the quility is not near as good through the vcr as the direct way from directv to tv.
Is there a vcr that may have a dvi input/output and would make my screen full while in HD rather than widescreen. And would it look like it was hooked up directly from the sat. to the tv?
