In a couple days, the easiest easy sat will get a bit easier to work, being placed into high power mode and with the PL tone (CTCSS) shut off. This will make it even easier to hear and easy to access even with an old clunker of a radio without a tone board.
Also, digipeating on the packet side is currently set to ON as a trial basis. D700's and the Kenwood APRS HT are ready to go out of the box to use this bird. Even if you can't hear it, someone with an Igate probably can. Set your path to VIA PACB-1 to use the DIGI. It's approved for unproto ops, keyboard to keyboard or APRS. Usually connecting through a satellite digipeater is frowned upon so try to keep to unconnected packets.
Vssb/Ufm mode will be back, by popular demand! This experimental mode was a hit last month and it will be on again. The uplink is 2 meter sideband and the downlink is the standard 70cm FM. You'll need to adjust your uplink for doppler so full duplex is pretty much a necessity. It's a lot of fun!
