Anybody tried AMC-12 at 67.5 degrees West to see if anything is in the clear? Right now on Lyngsat it is listed in the testing phase. I figured since it was being tested that they might be feeding unscrambled and unencrypted data to the satellite to fine-tune and configure it before shifting it 30 degrees further West Longitude to its final resting place of 37.5 degrees West and have everything set and ready to roll with scrambling and encryption in place.
Also, I read on the detailed brochure on the satellite that it will have the ability to broadcast to Europe,Africa,South America and from East coast of U.S. to the Mid-Western region of the U.S. It also stated that a smaller antenna could be used since the transponders used higher powered amplifiers. 67watts is the beam power aimed at every other region stated except North America. North America is stated to be around 33watts. Detailed Brochure can be found here:http://www.ses-americom.com/pdfs/amc-12_2005.pdf
