New Channels - Rescan?

I have a Fortec Star system. I was wondering if a rescan needs to be done each time a new channel is put up on the satellite? or does it automatically sense it and add it to the list of channels?

No, you will need to rescan for the receiver to pick it up. However, if you know some of the specifics (Freq, polarity, Symbol Rating), you can manually enter those on the "Advanced Scan," for it to be entered.
