i have the new style DPplus lnb (says "Dish HD" on the back on it.) it has the 4 ports with one being the LNBin and no external switch is required...and i am wondering if i can have 119, 110, 118.7 and 129 (129 is on the bracket) without the switch? i will be using a Dish ViP 211k HD receiver so i can receive HD channels from the 129. If this can work without the switch, how do i hook all the sats to my receiver in a cable?

That is my understanding, yes. The integrated switch has 3 DPP outputs and one DP input, so in principle you could feed 4 sats to three duo Dish receivers.

alright, so since im only gonna have one dish vip 211k for one hdtv how would i wire that..starting from the LNB to the receivers? will i need and separators or something? (sorry for the dumb questions, im a noob..lol)

Connect your DP single or dual to the input port on the DPP 500+ LNB. Then run one line from the LNB to a ground block and then from the ground block to inside and then to your 211's satellite input. Run a check switch and you should be good to go.

Hello,

Quick question about this new LNB. What dish can it go onto ? Right now, I have Dish 1000.2 for 119, 110, and 129 with 61.5 attached as a 4th sat. Since 61.5 channels go moved to 118.7, I am not using that sat anymore but 110, 119 and 129 are still operational. However, I was wondering if I could purchase this new HD LNB and just replaced the old LNB with it on the same Dish 1000.2 with additional 129 with extra bracket and LNB.

So my questions are:

- If I am able to do so, do I have to repoint the signal or will just align because I am just replacing LNBs and keeping the Dish 1000.2 in the same place ?
- Do I have to run check switch - I believe that i would have to ?
- If I wanted to attach an additional single LNB on that additional bracket (included with LNB) what class of LNB would that be ? DP, DPP, DPP+ ?
- Would i need any switch in addition to feed these 4 sats via single cable into dual-tuner receiver PVR ?

Your help is greatly appreciated ! Thanks in advance!

You need a bigger dish to receive 118. In your case, you will need a 1000+. This new LNB will work with the input being occupied by the LNB for 129. I don't think you can do anything with the old 1000.2 dish and LNB assembly.

Are you sure about that ? Isn't Dish 100.2 the same shape and size as Dish 1000+ dish ? I thought that 500+/1000+ are the same as the Dish 1000 in function. If I really have to get a new dish , what is recomended for the setup I want : Dish 500+ or Dish 1000+ - and I want to use this new HD LNB with extra 129 LNB . So I will have one dish with 4 LNBs and one cable out to receiver . the fourth LNB for 129 sta, what class does it need to be ?

Thanks,

MG

Sorry; the 500+/1000+ is bigger. I don't think this new LNB will fit on the 1000.2, and that is (probably so far as I know) done deliberately to help you avoid a marginal setup. ;)

"Yes" on the 4 LNBs and one RG6 cable to each receiver. (The 118/119 LNBs are coaxial.)

The 1000.2 is smaller than a 500+/1000+ dish. The difference between the 500+ and 1000+ is the 1000+ has the 129 LNB attached, without the 129 LNB, it's a 500+. Same dish.

Thanks for your reply! What do you mean " The 118/119 LNBs are coaxial" ??? Sorry a bit confused here and one more question: If I get 500+ or 1000+ (which one is recommended by the way ) how do I peak the signal on all 4 Sats ? Which one do I start with ?

Thanks,

MG

So I am bit confused here , when I bought the new switch it comes with a new bracket for 129 Sat , so when i buy 1000+ do I also get an extra LNB for 129 and if I buy 500+ dish I am getting dish without extra LNB for 129 SAT ? Sorry :(

What do you mean " The 118/119 LNBs are coaxial" ???

I meant that you shouldn't be looking for 3 separate little white windows covering the feedhorns for 110, 118 and 119 like you see on your 1000.2. I don't have a picture, but if you have one, just look at it! Doesn't it have one normal-looking white window and another larger gnarly-looking window, for 2 total? The gnarly-looking window is covering both the 118.7 LNB and the 119 LNB.

If I get 500+ or 1000+ (which one is recommended by the way ) how do I peak the signal on all 4 Sats ? Which one do I start with?

You want the 1000+ since you want 129. The only difference between the 500+ and the 1000+ is the 4th LNB for 129. Regarding peaking, I've never done a 1000+. But IIRC the 118 LNB is centered on the dish because it's the weakest sat by far. So, theoretically, you should peak 118 first. This should also peak 119. Then use the skew to peak 129, and 110 should also be peaked.

Get a 1000+ superdish kit to support what I assume is a dpp 500+ lnb (dual elliptical eyes with a bracket for 129 addon. The 500+ lnb wont fit on a 1000.2 arm nor will that arm support the weight of that lnb. Install a dp single or dual on the bracket and patch into port 4. Any lines you run from the dish after that will carry 110 118.7 119 and 129. For a 211 only one line from the dish is needed. Run a checkswitch anytime signal passing to the receiver changes (odu change, lnb change, switch addition removal). Why do you need 4 orbitals anyways? Do you have international channels?

Thanks Afakasi ! Yes I need international channels so hence the 4 sats.
So what's 1000+ superdish kit ? Is it the whole new dish with the mounting mast and the skew arm at the back etc... ? Where do you get it and what's the good/fair price for it ?
How do I peak the signal, which SATs first ? Is it 119 and then 118 and what transponders do I use ? What's 211 ? A receiver ? I have a dual tuner PVR so i am assuming that I would only need one line from the dish anyways.

Thanks for your help!
