NEW HD FOR SEPTEMBER

I started seeing commercials from DISH on the Science channel last night for NFL REDZONE, almost sounded like it was already available but didn't see it on my guide. Saw more commercials from DISH this morning. Also heard a commercial on Phoenix talk radio on the way to work.

Since this thread is new HD channels for September, I thought I would note that AMC HD has made it to DBS, just not in the United States, AMC HD launched today on Shaw Direct (Star Choice) in Canada. I would be nice if one of the American providers would launch it (preferably Dish Network).

Some coaches have been known to tell fans, after a big player comes back from a long injury:
It's just like a new signing !

In a similar way, in September, many channels that were added in HD over the past few months will finally have new programming, so you can say:

It's just like a new HD channel !

Example:

On September 8th is the premiere of the Second Season of Sons Of Anarchy on FX-HD, so you can watch that in HD for the first time on Dish Network and say:

It's just like a new HD channel !

FSC, as in Fox Soccer Channel? when does that start?

I, too, was VERY interested in this b/c the Seattle Sounders FC are playing on that channel tomorrow starting at 4:30pm PT. My first online CSR chat was miserable ("Sorry, that's an RSN and you're locked out of it..." :-\) but the second one said that, yes, the website:

DISH Network - Entertain - 1.888.825.2557

was up-to-date and that by 5:00pm MDT tomorrow (Wednesday) FSC and the rest should be ready to go. One would assume that at that point they'd also update channel 102 which currently says just the Tennis channel.

Now, hopefully the dish.sling.com will also be updated so that I can set it to start recording while I'm still at work (after it goes LIVE). If not, I'll miss the first half of the game before I can get home from work...

as a dedicated member of La Barra Brava (even though I now live in NV) and DC United supporter, I'm skipping out of work at 3 so I'll be home for the game well before it starts. I was thinking I was going to have to watch it on justin.tv or something, since the local sports bar is terrible and doesn't carry FSC.

I feel dish fell off the boat by not adding espnu hd.
Its sad that my parents have it, and I don't. They have less than 20 hd channels.
Nice job dish!

From my understanding dish has the contract signed with ESPNU HD but doesnt have the space to add it right now, too interested in making money with the NFL red zone on sundays!!!!!!
$5.99 for multisport package which is a joke because none of the rsn's are full time hd networks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but we also add stupid channels like logo, betj, and ftv that doesnt have one bit of hd content. Really makes alot of sense?

They don't realize what a swift kick in the balls it would be to Direct if they added ESPNU immediately. They really need to get their priorities straight and drop something useless like LogoHD to make room.

They have the room. There are some technical issues at present.

Perhaps, you aren't looking at the FTV that I'm looking at... nearly all (if not all) of FTV's content is HD. However, I can understand the disdain toward Logo and BET-j.

As for Red Zone over ESPNU; Sunday Ticket is one of the few things Direct can hold over Dish's head. If Dish has the opportunity to add a poor man's Sunday Ticket (which might keep some subs from jumping to Direct) or adding ESPNU now (which their competition won't offer until next year). Adding Red Zone over ESPN-U makes good business sense, which is something you can't normally accuse dish of having...
