Separate Video, more commonly known as
S-Video, and sometimes incorrectly referred to as "Super Video" and also known as

luma (luminance) and
chroma (colour). S-Video is analog. The digital part is to the box. The signal out of the box to the TV IS analog. In fact, Component is also an analog signal. DVI and HDMI are digital signals.
