New Software Coming Tonight

Siri is the worst and my Alexa got put in the closet months ago when I got sick of "her" disconnecting the Bluetooth connection to my Surround Sound every 12 minutes or so. I haven't really played with the GA on the Hopper yet other than asking the weather once. I might mess around this weekend more, but I still haven't explored the 84,000 new titles on VOD, either, yet

I keep misplacing my manuals for all this stuff.

TV watching is HARD !!

I am afraid to use Siri. Several times I asked to play a song and It responded with there is help for you please talk to someone about this should I call now? It’s trying to call suicide prevention. It’s tried to do this a few times. Damn all I want to hear is Springsteen or southside Johnny.

You want to listen to Springsteen? Maybe Siri is right after all.

You should see what id does when I ask it to play Slayer!

Did this before going to bed last night; will let you know what happens

I only have Siri on my AppleTV 4K and never use it. I only own Android mobile devices, although all my Computers are and have been Macs since the late 80's. Alexa is "Dumb as a Box of Rocks", but she runs the house have way decently. I have her set to extended response and we have 15-20 minute conversations as to what a POS she is and I get eMails from Amazon telling me to "Stop Harassing" their AI. I'm tired of her "NOT" disconnecting from Bluetooth devices that it needs to share. I asked GA, that I have set with a British accent, all our other stuff is all Australian, about my Calendar, of which I have been trying to sync with others and that's a whole other mess. I asked about the weather too and something else I can't remember. So it wasn't that monumental.

I pray that it works halfway decent because my neighbors that I just moved to dish, one is legally blind and they are hoping that the voice control will help in the operation of their new H3. And that initial ordering process on the phone and the website is a mess too.

All that technology sure is making our lives easier!

Got the H3 update earlier this week. Setup the google assistant tonight and so far the voice remote seems to be okay. 2 out of three on searches and pause and resume playback worked well but a little slow. Maybe a learning curve for the AI.

Are you sure that the GA is not programmed to listen to you when the talk button is not pushed? They can probably do that but it will not work for you until you push the button.
My daughter asked GA on her tablet if it could hear her while not pushing the button and it said "Loud and Clear".

GA, Alexa, And Siri probably are. They’re not gonna hear much worth remembering.

The 54 remote only listens when the button is pushed. If the 54 remote would listen all the time the remote battery would not last long at all. It takes power to transmit to the Hopper3.

Google speakers and Alexa Echos which are both powered with a 120 volt power source are always listening.

This is weird, I just got the update yesterday! I have a Wally and it went from version U804 to U806 and I got the Google Assistant message too. SMH!!

How did she ask on the tablet? I just tried that on mine and no response. Although it responded when I said: "Hey Google!" or any other of the "Wake Words".

. . . and there is a newer interface in the H3 setup for GA. Noticed it last night when I asked for it to turn off my lights, that are plain WiFi, and it said there was a problem with them. I was looking out of curiosity to see if there was a place where to set that up. So it saw them, just couldn't do anything with them.
