Ok, here are the new additions to the family. I was able to listen to some Klipsch Reference, and got some friendly advice from teachsac. I started figuring, why not enjoy them now, why wait for the house build :)

Will get the surrounds at a later date.

I stuck with bookshelfs, but they do have 8" woofers :)

Congrats! These are very good speakers. I am sure you will enjoy them!

Yes, they sound brighter than some other types of speakers, but this is not necessarily a bad thing for a home theater. Remember, in sound, the opposite to "bright" is "dull"! ;)

Hehe. Unfortunately, it seems in most of these level speakers, music vs HT performance is often a concession. My speakers are strictly HT, and as loud as I can take. The efficiency of the speakers and the clarity of the horns are what sold me. I needed more mid bass and highs that could hang with high volume. I have a feeling the new sub, and these Klipsch speakers are gonna be a hole nother level.

Back speakers are 3 Klipsch mounted in the ceiling. I'm running a 6.1 setup which works well in the corner environment.

So, now for the next question. Do you run them naked, or clothed :)
You can try both ways and see if you can tell the difference. Most likely you will find that the difference is so minor, if noticeable at all, that you will end up keeping the cloth on to protect the speakers against dust (or against pets and kids if you have any) and will only remove it when listening to your very best reference music and of course when showcasing your setup to your friends. ;)

Stands arrive Monday and speakers on Tue! Out of town next weekend, so it'll give me a week or more of tv to get em worked in. Then I think it'll be time to throw star wars and Jurassic park at em :)

go for some subtlety too. check out the Dave Mathews / Tim Reynolds at Radio City Music Hall for some showcasing without special effects.
