NFL Network removed without warning by TWC in LA

At least 1.6 million Time Warner Cable customers lost the NFL Network without warning yesterday. Some will switch to Dish or DirecTV since they both have the network.

Same thing just occurred here in NE Ohio. TWC just got done gobbling up Adelphia. Adelphia had the NFL Network...TWC doesn't have a contract to carry it. Furthmore, TWC has gone on record stating they will *never EVER* carry it. Needless to say, there are a lot of pissed off people who had the channel and don't now.

Oh well...their loss. More potential Dish installs for me.

I would have thought that part of the buyout of Adelphia would include honoring any existing/in-place contracts. Apparently the contract, that the NFL Network helped make up, stated something to the effect that in the even of a merger, buyout, takeover, etc, the contract becomes null and void.

I know the NFL fans won't like this, but TWC must NOT be ALLOWED to carry the network. Don't blame TWC here...

The FCC Just (within the last 5 minutes) order Time Warner to return the NFL Channel to former Aldelphia subs as Time Warner did not give subs a 30 day warning that their lineup was going to change.

TWC took over the Comcast market here and for about the past 2 weeks there has been commercials on local radio here saying for customers to call to demand the NFL channel.

Good thing we have DISH. , though I'm sure it's a different NFL channel than we get.
