Plan to upgrade my 942 to 622vip after 4/1/06. I live in NYC area and currently have dish pointing to 110/121/129 with DP44. With the locals moving to 110 by new Echostar 10, does that mean I don't need 2nd dish pointing 61.5 after 6/8/06 to receivie all HD programs (including Voom and local). If so, do I need to adjust the dish angle or just change the DVR to 622vip in order to receive all HD channels?

you will still need a 61.5 dish because NYC cant see 129....so I dont understand why you would have a D1000

NE part of US needs 2 dishes...NYC HD is on 61.5

I suspect you are a little confused, you can not receive 129 from NYC. If you are receiving some International channel or channels you may have a SuperDish pointed to 110/119(NOT129)/121. To get HD from NYC you will still need to get a 2nd dish pointed at 61.5 for both your HD locals and the HD National channels. Once again NYC is too far North East to see the 129 satellite and the HD National channels are simulcast to both 61.5 and 129. It is only the extra SD locals that will be moving from 61.5 to 110, NOT the HD. :)

Thanks for the clarification. so I still need 2nd dish for local HD & Voom, what about the compliance for one dish rule. Does Dishnetwork plan to move local HD & Voom to Echostar 10 later?

The one dish rules applies to one dish for all SD locals, not all programming received. Some folks had local channels on two satellites that required 2 antennas.

No HD move to E* X. It'll stay at 129 & 61.5.

some HD might move to E10 but the one dish rule does mean that your SD locals have to be on one dish

Some have their locals all on 148 where the core stuff is on 110/119
