Which violates both the Constitution and the spirit of the Declaration of Independence. We are no longer a free democracy anymore. An opt out aproach would be constitutional, but blocking free speech without consent is a socialist experiment. No, this rule effects more than just family pack subs and would not hold up in the supreme court. Cable Satellite tv is now under public airwaves rules, which never should have been called that in the first place since it's not found in the founding document under any interpretation of pursuit of happiness. More violations of free speech will follow just look at ABC vs Clinton.

Wow. There's a big stretch. I don't think that the Family Pack exclusion has anything to do with the Constitution or Declaration. It has to do with the fact that many/most people who have subbed to the family pack have done so because of the family-friendly content. The premium movie channels are among the worst when it comes to language and sexual content on TV at all (not including the obvious adult channels). If I subbed to the Family pack for that reason, then saw that my kid was watching Skinemax, I'd be furious.

Of course, I know how to use parental controls so this isn't an issue for me, but I'm sure it is an issue for a large number of folks who sub to the Family Pack.

I beg to differ. The intention of DishFamily is to offer "Family Friendly" programming. For the most part, those subscribing to DishFamily either prefer NOT to have the type of programming aired on the other channels (opting out by choice) or are too cheap to spring for next lowest package.

Not even close. Dishnetwork can decide who - and when - someone gets something for free. When you own a satellite company then you can decide. And as for Clinton/ABC - that also is not a violation of any free speech. If ABC doesn't air the show or changes it, that is their decision - no one will force them to. There is a big difference of feeling pressure to do something to being made to to something when the person giving the pressure has no authority over you. Another words ABC will be deciding what to do however they come to that decision.

Ummmm....somehow I don't think this issue will ever be heard by the Supreme Court.....maybe because this interpretation is nutty.

I'm now going to engage in my own pursuit of happiness with a bottle of cold Sam Adams Light.

Yes, I'd like to know if the HD versions are available also. I don't see any info at that link about HBO/Cinemax/Showtime being available certain weekends in October- is that info generally posted?

When I go to this link, I don't see anything about the free movie preview weekends? Anyone else able to see the schedule of those?

Thanks

Oh my god ! You're right ! Cable or satellite television should have been guaranteed by our founding fathers !!!

Oh my gosh. Talk about over-reacting. It is a constitutional crisis people!

Sorry, but that is just too funny. I don't have the family pack, but I am sure that if I did I would be extremely mad to have my kids turn on the TV and see an uncensored HBO show.

As for the movie channels, I would love to see a schedule and also if it will be the HD versions as well. Anyone know?

I only had mention of this "Octoberfest Movie" thing from the email. I could not find it on the Dish network site. I just cut and past the link from the whole email they sent me so it was included.

I am also hoping that they include HD since I just jumped to a VIP622 a few weeks ago.
