I'd really like to be able to use this app, but I don't really need a tablet right now. I figured I could get an old phone off ebay, but I was wondering what features it needs. From what I understand it needs:

Android 1.5 or later
Wifi capable
A rear facing camera
An accelerometer
An internal compass (Is a gyroscope the same as a compass?)

I finally found (on wikipedia) a comparison of android phones, so now maybe I can start browsing.

Is there anything in the list I'm missing?

Hello,

I'd get at least Android 2.0, at the moment I'm supporting 1.6 and up but will probably drop support for 1.6 soon.

Gyroscope is not the same as compass but any device with gyroscope will certainly have a compass.

Thanks, Alan. Great! Gonna try it out. I've ordered an Android 2.2 phone (LG Optimus S LS670) and it's on its way.

Does it cost anything to do this? I mean other than buying the phone?
Can you run apps on those phones without activating them to some service?

More toys:D

No, it doesn't need any service but while you've got such a device, you should have some service - you'll get more out of your device.
