I just quit Dish. Is my 12 year old VIP722 good for anything but recycling?

Recycle. DISH will no longer activate it.

It can still be activated in ViP accounts, just added a new 612 to my account a couple months ago.

Sounds more like remans.

It was new old stock from eBay, brand new. Serial number started with an R (refurbs have a label placed over the original that starts with a W) and it was in the vacuum packed electrostatic bag they shipped with new. The remote batteries had leaked in their package but it fired right up, took the initial download and has been working great.

I like the VIP receivers that have the built in OTA module..always worked great unlike these usb pieces of crap...pretty good deal for New.I'm ordering one now..Thanks for the review...lol
