Although I don't plan to install a OTA antenna right away, I would like to do any possible cabling I might down the road before our custom entertainment cabinet gets installed in the den. Would all I need be a coax for any future OTA hookup, and if so, can I simply run a shorter length (around 12ft) now from the cable box area to my crawlspace and use a coupling to extend that to the antenna if/when it's installed?

Thanks,
m

Yes, couplings are fine. Some people will claim it hurt the signal or picture quality but if they claim to see a difference, it's their imagination wanting to see a difference.

You might also want to run a rotator cable if its easy access at this time. Rotators do make OTA much better.
