OTA Question

Based on the below info what is the best OTA attena to purchase. I am about 40 miles away from the stations and all but one are UHF. I will put it in my attic.

Will I be able to hook the OTA to 2 different HD boxes?

You are looking at a fairly long distance coupled with whatever signal dispersing your roof adds, so I would go with the Channel Master 4228. Medium range antennas such as the CM4221, Winegard PR4400 or Antennas Direct DB4 might work on the roof except for WFAA. The 4228 should get WFAA. Check measurements in your attic for clearances and use a compass for aiming.
Use RG6 coax. A splitter will allow you to branch to multiple TVs or tuners. I split to 3 TVs and split again behind the TV so I can connect to both VIP622 and to my TV. That way, I can record one OTA and watch another.

Consider a 10 dB amplifier VHF/UHF with 4 outlets, say 3 TVs and a recorder. (One unused VCR, which I have, syncs its clock from the PBS station.)
You may require an FM trap if you are near that station.
Compared to a 10 dB amplifier with one outlet and a splitter you will get twice the voltage or about 6 dB more gain without overload. A 20 dB amp may overpower your inputs.

BTW, I am 49 miles by line of sight and I can see the towers with binoculars on top of Sandia Crest (10000+) from my home at 7200+ with lower ground between. I get good signal on all digital channels but the second PBS set of 3 (KNMD-9) with weak power constrained by the adjacent digital (KCHF-10 aka 11.1) religious station that has delayed co-locating to the Crest.
