Pretty good read. One thing I do when I get a new set or device, or calibrate a friend/family's new set, is check numerous modes and discs (I currently carry Spears and Munsil, DVE and WOW) to ensure I pick the best settings. I've personally found that even in a 1:1 mode, some displays lose resolution in certain picture modes, so you really have to watch for the trickery manufacturers have going on.
