Hi.

I ordered the Alabama-Florida Intl. game over the weekend via PPV.

A majority of the first half was not shown (technical difficulties message on screen).

Contacting Dish Support Chat - I am being told that PPV are non-refundable and the length of the event is not guaranteed.

Has anyone ever had success getting a full or partial refund for this in the past?

Thanks.

That sucks.

I can't answer your question, but if you buy more than a couple of them a year, you should consider Game Plan now at $115, especially with the SEC contract. ALA and FIU was fine there.

For the SEC, each school will only have one ppv for the season. So he should not have to worry about it for Bama anymore.

Also, BECAUSE of the SEC contract is a major reason to not get Gameplan this year IMO. Its basically obsolete for SEC football from what I can tell.

Um no. ESPN has rights to all SEC home games, some of which are ONLY on GP. I watched two games last weekend and two this weekend, that I would not have seen other wise. Granted they arent major games, but I want to see ALL SEC games(for example Alabama and FIU and Auburn and Ms State).

Basically, just because of the contract, there is no gurantee you'll see it on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU, you might still miss them on GP.

I agree with your point on PPV, but if you are a big SEC fan, GP has some games you'd miss otherwise.

Well, the bama game was PPV, you could get it without gameplan, and since it was the only one that will be PPV for them every other game they have will be split between the SEC network, ESPN/ESPN2, CBS, Fox Sports and ESPNU (or at lest that is how it is supposed to work). From what I have read the other SEC schools are the same.
What channel was auburn on? I was at the bama game, and did not get a chance to watch it, but I was fairly certain that it was available without gameplan.

For the SEC fan, ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ABC and Game Plan are the requirement. I think the GOOD matchups with be on one of the ESPN's, but the minor games get pushed to GP. If you want to see your team regardless, like me, no choice.

Elway, what games have you seen that were gameplan only for the SEC?

Trying to sort it all out:)

I know the Bama game this week is on the SEC network at 11:20. So that is a mirror broadcast. Most can get it without gameplan, or is it only regional?

Thanks for the schedule post

not necessarily...Since its on GP it probably is blacked out on the RSN's except for those areas where that is the "local" RSN"

Mississippi State at Vanderbilt 6:00 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / FSS (HD) Southeastern Louisiana at Ole Miss 6:30 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / CSS
Florida Atlantic at South Carolina 6:00 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / PPV

North Texas at Alabama 11:21 a.m. ESPN-GP *2 / SEC Network *4
Soooo, maybe with the multisport you can save the dough and see MOST of them??

Like I said, Im outta luck with any SEC Network game, but I assume youd get CSS and such with the multisport.

Ah, forgot the blackout schedule.

I think way up in Va, GP is prob my best option, but might not be for those much closer.

Ok, thats where our differences are. For me, most of those games are available elswhere. I can see where they are not for your area.

Thanks:up

Bama in AZ

I also did not get the full year with the expectation that all Bama games except FIU would be available since KTVK in Phoenix was listed as part of the SEC network. I don't know what the reason is, but they are NOT carrying the SEC game. I get the multisport package, however, and found the SEC network game available on MSG and FSDetroit. The Bama-FIU feed was visible for the whole game here, but it looked pretty sad compared to all the HD feeds. Better than nothing at all thought. ROLL TIDE!

I just figured out I can get my local SEC Network channel, WSKY on a Dish SD local, and did not even know it. That takes care of one more game.

So, out of these matchups:

Mississippi State at Vanderbilt 6:00 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / FSS (HD) Southeastern Louisiana at Ole Miss 6:30 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / CSS
Florida Atlantic at South Carolina 6:00 p.m. ESPN-GP *2 / PPV

North Texas at Alabama 11:21 a.m. ESPN-GP *2 / SEC Network *4

If I did not have GP, I could most likely only see the Ala game on my local SEC network. If FSS and CSS are blacked out for me here.

Why do blackout rules have to be so confusing.....

I may add the MS package for this weekend to see if I actually get the FSS and CSS games. Then I'll know if I need GP next year.

The first CSS SEC game was on several other Comcast SportsNets (not in HD though unfortunately), so far it doesn't look like this week's will be on any one that we can get on Dish, just Northwest and Philly (and CST, so New Orleans Dish customers can get it, yay?)
