Plasma/LCD TV...how long do they last?

I must say Vizio has really come up in the world. Their sets today are much better than they have been in the past- they've narrowed the quality gap.

Vizio is working hard to become a mainline brand. Let's not forget that 25 years ago, Samsung was known as Goldstar and was the cheapest piece of junk on the market.

I think Goldstar was the precursor for LG aka Lucky Goldstar. Samsung's first TV's were with Sanyo. But still a valid point.
 
I have a 52 HD "rear projection" Toshiba going on six years, Fingers crossed no issues. I also have a 42 plasma Toshiba going on four years, so far so good!
