Why does it need more than one HDMI port?

If the Xbox 360 does the same thing I will need to get one of those HDMI switches since my TV only has one and the Directv HD box also uses it.

I am going to end up getting both systems because I am such a fanatic, the only thing that bothers me is that with talking to some insiders at EB Corp, alot of the managers feel that the system is going to retail at about $599 or more, while the XBOX they are guessing at 299 to 349 range. The other worry I have and everyone seems to agree with this is that the games retail prices are going to jump to 59.99 a game, which is going to hurt at first...dont quote me though, I hope these figures are wrong, and they are only guesses...

So, I see Sony can get 3+GHz PowerPC processors out of IBM, I guess Apple couldn't generate enough G5 Mac numbers. I wonder if the power consumption/heat generation will be an issue with these consoles?
