Here is my coordinates 33.397357,-89.162394 I am trying to see what antenna i need for vhf channel 8 rest is on uhf and how high i may need to mount it. Trees are taller than house and current vhf antenna is mounted on a tripod on top of house and it is mainly a vhf antenna channel 4 or is called 35 also when the wind is blowing loses reception. My roof is gavalum metal not sure of spelling. If anyone can tell me i would like to know what people think of the radio shack Model: U-75R | Catalog #: 15-2160 if it might help me or not. I have went through a lot of research and am puzzled on which antenna to try and how to mount a telescoping antenna mount pole if i want to manually turn it and where can i purchase one these days. Thanks,

The 4 major networks are within 30 miles and PBS is 3 miles. NBC and PBS are VHF channels so the U75 may not work but probably will. From Radio Shack HBU22 cat 15-278 is VHF/UHF and about the same price. I don't know either antenna but at your distance from broadcasters there is a good chance Rabbit Ears would work depending on terrain and that metal roof.

The U-75 is not the right antenna for you. It's designed for UHF only, you have both VHF and UHF stations.

You can use a HBU-22 or HD-7694P aimed at 22 degrees, but that is likely to be iffy on WMAB. Add that one channel with a Y5-7-13 aimed at 167 plus a channel 10 Jointenna to combine it with the 22 degree antenna.
Find a cheap Jointenna here: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Channel-Master-Jointenna-0580-Combiner/dp/B001RQUP6K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250948194&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com: Channel Master Jointenna Model 0580 Channel 10 Combiner: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41aGmcMpKRL.@@AMEPARAM@@41aGmcMpKRL[/ame]

You don't need a preamp.

I'd try the HBU-22 or the HD-7694P alone and see how much of WMAB you can pick up off the back side.

It might save you the money for another antenna, being only 3 miles away it's going to be difficult NOT to receive.
