Looking that the drive of my AV700E, I can see the beginnings of fragmentation and an mpeg4 I loaded the other day skips but not when played on my laptop.

So, I'm thinking about using XP Pro from laptop via USB to defrag the drive but I don't want to loose everything I've got there. Or worse yet make it so I have to send it to repair to get the disk reformatted.

Has any body done this?

Anybody heard any pros or cons about doing this?

Thanks

BTW, Pocket Dish is really great, once you get used to it's goofy control setup.

Well, I have the Archos PMA430. Not exactly a PocketDish but I run through the defrag about once every 3 months. I haven't had any problems with it. I would always make backups though, just in case.
