Poor Connections

I was hooking up my dish 500 last night and when doing a switch check i got a message poor conections - it did however "see" the dp twin . i am unable to get a signal at all and the connections are good and tight - the cable was used on a previous install so i know its good - any suggestions

You'll get the 'conn' on your switch matrix when it can read the switch but sees no signal. The good news is that means your cable isn't the problem. Either your dish isn't lined up right, something is in the way, the lnb is toast, or your receiver is acting up.

First, try a front panel reset, I've had a lot of receivers lately need one.
2nd, make sure your dish is aimed properly with clear line of sight.

After that it's hard for me to tell what's up without seeing things myself.
