Positioning a Switch

Has anyone ever done the following;

1) Position a DisEQc switch outside on the dish ?

and

2) Put the DisEQc switch between the motor and LNB ?

Pic attached is my switch outside for the Invacom. Now this is an old 4x2 multiswitch but I have a 4x1 DiseQc out in 3 MN winters. The 4x2 multiswitch is like 2 22k switches

You are suppose to put the switch between the motor & LNB so not to fry the switch. if you have a fixed dish in the setup, the receiver would be set to Disable or OFF for the motor settigns for the fixed dish
