Deleting PPV Purchase History and DVR History...How?

There is an option to clear caller ID history, but I could not find a menu option to delete my purchase history or what shows I've recorded (timer history, DVR events history). Any suggestions on how to clear the history? Thanks.

Other than resetting the box to the factory settings (which I don't *know* will work, I only assume will), I don't think there is a way....

Well it's really nobody's business, especially if somebody wants to sell a receiver, if everything on the card has been paid for, there should be a way to clear it off.

1. You can't sell a 522. It's currently only available as a lease to new subs. And if you did sell it, the buyer couldn't get it authorized.

2. The card gets cleared when the box calls in and reports the PPVs. So if they are paid for, the purchases have already been cleared from the card.

There are ways to obtain it with out doing a lease.

That not 100% correct. Some receivers call out when you order and its sometime put on your account almost right then and it still shows up on your card in the purchased screen, and isn't cleared out for a few weeks or so.(atleast it does this with mine.)

Hmmmm...no porn purchases yet, unless you consider the "Alamo" porn. But if anyone with access to my house can look at everything I've watched, it certainly is a disincentive for me to make PPV purchases from Dish Network. Also, I don't like the idea of people being able to check on, via my remote control, what shows I record and watch.

Well I could be wrong but I beleave your purchases are kept on the smart card so even if you did a reset to the receiver it would still be there. So the only way it would go away was if the system phoned home and did a card update.

He's not talking about clearing the smart card. He is talking about clearing the History screen.

Yea I know but I think it gets it data from the purchase info on the smart card and as long as its still on the card it will be on the history screen.

I haven't tested it but circumstantial evidence would indicate that it has nothing to do with the data on the smart card. If you look at the Purchase History screen, it is labeled "Past & Pending." If the history was cleared when the receiver called home, there would be no need for a "Past" section because the "past" purchases would be cleared. Therefore, it's logical to assume that they will all remain as "Pending" until it calls out. Then, it will still remain but become a "Past."

Hmmmm yep very good point. Never thought about that. Thanks. :)

Well, restoring the factory defaults did nothing, other than requiring me to reset them. It did not erase the purchase or timer history.

Any other words of wisdom?

He have right for do that - he is own the device;
other suggestion - try to re-init hard drive, I've heard about the feature for PVR501, perhaps it will works for you.
