Sometimes I would like to watch HD channels on a non HD tv. From what I have
read the 6000 should automatically downconvert HD signals to SD with either
the S-Video or Composite connections. When I hook up I a get a blank screen
with only audio. It shows full high def with the component outputs without
any problems. I made some changes in the HDTV set up screen but nothing
happend.

I changed to SD mode with the orange light on and I still have no picture with
s-video or composite. Maybe the unit needs to be repaired.

Try other S-VIDEO or composite cable. Keep in mind that the 6000 only passes 1080I or 720P through components (HD) even if the source is SD. You MUST have a S-VIDEO or composite hooked up.
