Hello im a new dish network installer and for my past installs for the HD reciever 722 vip or something when i would use two deplixers to transfer the picture to tv 2 without having to run a second wire from the reciever it would always work and the picture on tv 2 would be nice and clear. Now the problem latley when i have been doing this deplixer trick the picture on tv 2 has been looking really staticly and broken i know im getting a dish network channel but the picture is not clear like before. Is there a certain kind of deplixer i have to use for the 722 vips of has any installer had this problem before. one more thing the problem is not air/cable modulator i am sure i am doing this part right like i have always installed it. This problem has been causeing me to run a wire from the location of the reciever to the second tv every time i install now. an its getting harder and harder to run a wire to the second tv in some cases i have to cancel the job because of finished basements and ext. Please any installers out there help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::(:(:(:(

Bad batch of diplexers? Installing one of them backwards? If a separate cable works, then that rules out problems with the receiver or TV setup.

hmm... I've never run into a issue using the diplexers to send back to TV2 on any receiver including the 722's. Make sure your putting your ends on good and be sure none of the silver brades are getting wrapped around the stinger and make sure to trim the stinger flush with the end or else it may cause issues.

Some TV's may also have issues beyond your control or the end going to that tv may need to be replaced just follow the above when you do that too.

A diplexer is simply a signal combiner/splitter and should have absolutely no impact on the TV2 signal. I've had the sat side of a diplexer go bad on RARE occassions but have never had one cause in issue with the uhf tv2 signal. I can't help but wonder if you've gotten ahold of diplexers that allow dc power pass through the TV side, this could cause major problems with signal clarity. Holland diplexers are good and the Aska ones haven't failed me yet. Now on occassion you are going to have a TV that will have a poor picture simply because the tuner is junk. In that situation I change the default ch 60 to a lower channel like 22, 33, etc and the problem usually goes away.

Welcome to the trenches.

Sounds like a bad batch of Diplexers.

I did get a bunch one time that were wired up wrong. You had to reverse the sat and in/out and they worked fine.

Bet that was a pain in the butt! I got a roll of dual coax a few years ago that the writing switched from one side to the other at random. Like to have driven me crazy when I first started using it.

However if that was the case with this guy the receiver wouldn't work because the tv/ant side won't allow the dc to pass.
