Problems with reception

My parents have two base model recievers - i think 301s. On an off, some channels will go to black screen then start acquiring signal and then gives the error message. Sometimes it comes back but often it wants to do the check switch test. I've done it but the problem keeps happening. This goes on for both tuners and both recievers. Any ideas?

What are your signal strengths? Goto Menu then 6-1-1. See what the signals are one transponder or spotbeam 11 for both 119 and 110.

It sounds like you need to have your dish peaked if it is doing this on both receivers. Where is your dish mounted?

When all is normal, in between the channels going out, the signal strenghts are above 100. Usually, i have to do two check switch tests. The first one comes back with an error and the second one works?

What type of LNB to you have. If it is a DP Twin there is a batch that has a problem.
