PS4 as a Blu-ray Player Thread

You know, I had not realized until now, but I have not put the first blu ray into my xbox one since I got it. May have not even have watched one on any player since then. It has been all streaming for me.

Curious as to how this and the Xbone have come along as Blu-ray players?
I don't use it as a Blu-ray player too often, but I can confirm that Xbox One can now play in 3D!

Well, uncle won a PS4 in a drawing at work and gave it to me. I put it in place of the sony player in my main HT and ran some spears and munsil tests. Seems to do well, outputs RGB 444 for apps like Netflix and Amazon, outputs ycbcr for blu-ray and 1080p/24 fine. Not sure why they hid settings in the options menu you get once the disc is playing, but you have to go in there and change audio to bitstream and turn NR off. Also using RGB Limited.

Pretty happy so far, other than having to use the goofy controller.

Blu-ray PQ is very good and Netflix 1080p looks great too.
